Coronavirus update

  • Buckinghamshire Council said yesterday the  number of Covid cases in the county this week equated to  125.7 per 100,000 of the population – a significant decrease on the previous week’s figure of 161.
  • Tylers Green Village Hall and Hazlemere Community Centre reopen on Wednesday but with the Covid restrictions that were in place before the lockdown reintroduced.
  • Our local library at Hazlemere will reopen on Thursday between 10am and 4pm and will remain open with reduced hours and Covid precautions in place. The reuse shop at High Wycombe tip, in aid of South Bucks Hospice, will reopen on Wednesday.
  • The Old Queen’s Head in Penn confirmed yesterday that it is opening its doors for meals from 6pm next Wednesday. The Crown in Penn and The Crown in Hazlemere also said they would reopen on 2 December.
  • The Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden  and Bekonscot model village in Beaconsfield will both reopen on Thursday.
  • There’s a mobile coronavirus testing site in Marlow today in addition to the permanent site in the grounds of Buckinghamshire New University in central High Wycombe.
  • The Chiltern Society is restarting its volunteer  woodland working parties and its walking and cycling groups next week, but with limited numbers and social distancing measures.  The Chiltern Open Air Museum confirmed that its Christmas Weekend on 5 and 6 December will go ahead.
